Wanganui college will defend writ
PA Wanganui The Wanganui Girls’ College board of governors would defend a writ served on it on Tuesday evening by the Wellington Hotel Workers’ Union, said Mr Paul Mitchell, the board’s acting chairman, yesterday. The writ relates to a dispute between domestic staff and the college hostel and the board over recognition of the union. Mr Mitchell said the Industrial Court was “the proper place for the matter to be resolved.” The domestic staff dis-
missed early last week because of the dispute maintained their picket at the college yesterday.
