Bouchers Wine and Gourmet Food Centre is a shop that is unique in i Greymouth, and has meant the realisation of a longheld ambition for its owner, Mr W. P. Poucher. The Boucher family have been victuallers in Greymouth for forty years, with a grocery shop on Mawhera Quay run by Mr Boucher and his son. Now Mr Boucher junior has a busy mini-market on Mackay Street and his father is enjoying his specialty shop in Albert Street, in the middle of an expanding shopping area. The Wine am’. Gourmet
Food Centre was opened 12 months ago, in a space made by knocking three smaller shops into one. Already it is proving very popular, especially with overseas tourists. The shop sells only New Zealan*! wines and has a wide selection of this country’s cheeses. Quality lines in beverages, condiments, savoury biscuits and tlnned foods are also stocked. Two of the staff from the Mawhera Quay business have come with Mr Boucher to the wine and food shop and share his enthusiasm for the venture.
