N.Z. Farmers expands

New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Association of Canterbury, Ltd, has acquired all the shares in Sadds Meat Packers, Ltd, the chairman of the Farmers (Mr R. H. Clark) announced yesterday. Sadds Meat Packers runs a packing house contiguous with the Blenheim Abattoirs, which it also runs under delegation from the local authority. The association has enjoyed long and mutually beneficial links with Mr Sadd, who will continue as a member of the board, Mr Clark says. The association’s directors believe that this acquisition will enhance the strength of its mercantile activities and provide protection to the interests of its farming clients. Plans for expansion are under consideration.
