Wool average up in May
The average price of wool sold st the final Christchurch sale of the 1977-78 wool season on May 18 was 189.14 c per kg. This was 7.31 c, or more than 4 per cent, higher than at the April sale in Christchurch, ! and 3.91 c, or more than 2
per cent, higher than at the May sale last year, A total of 3,026,004 kg of wool in 20,189 bales sold for $5,723,250. The price per bale was $283.48, according to figures supplied by the Christchurch Woolbrokers’ Association.
