Random reminder
READY, SET Anyone would think that a wife who had gone to the trouble to acquire a certificate for first aid, and home nursing as well, would earn the respect and even gratitude of her next of kin. This is regrettably not always so But one such woman lives in hopes that h*r day of justification will come, though a’ present her husband sceptically asks to see her certificate if her brand of home nursing does not get him back on his feet within a day of catching 'flu or whatever. Opportunities to use her knowledge of first aid are luckily not frequent, but one dav she thought her hour of triumph bad come. She was at first alarmed to see her husband hobbling ■ ito the kitchen holding a leg. his face ■white and contorted with pain.

I though sympathetic, she felt it was ■ i hardly a challenge to her skill. How- •; ever, she decided to make the most of : ; the rare opportunity to demonstrate f her hare-won prowess. Covering the area with a small ■ dressing, she then rubbed her hands . while she assessed the situation. f: “What sort of bandage would you . prefer — figure eight or spiral?” she ; ; asked. ; There was no reply. A quick glance proved the patient had fainted.
