Baillie expects better result
The group net profit of Baillie Farmers Motors, Ltd, of Hastings fell 66.5 per cent to $35,000 in the six months to April 30, but the directors say they expect an improvement in the final six months.
“A reduced profit performance in the first quarter because of the downturn in new vehicle sales has been reversed by a significant improvement in the second quarter.
“This improvement is expected to be maintained throughout the final six months to October 31,” they say.
The profit was after providing $56,100 less for tax at $28,900. A steady tax-free interim dividend of 2.5 c a share (5 per cent) is payable on June 30.
