Mr W. F. Brown in Auckland

PA Auckland ' The former Christchurch Magistrate, Mr W. F. Brown, S.M., who is the Transport Licensing Appeal Authority, held his first public hearing in Auckland yesterday. He heard an appeal by E. Lichtenstein and Company, Ltd, a big wool exporter, on a previous decision by the Transport Licensing Authority in favour of the Railways Department not to allow the company to carry wool by road between Wanganui and Auckland, and Napier and Auckland. The Railways Department opposes the appeal, which is proceeding.
