Airtrainer recovered after forced landing

The Royal New Zealand Air Force Airtrainer which made a forced landing in the Lake Ellesmere area on Monday should be back at Wigram this morning for a court of inquiry. Workmen had extreme difficulty removing the Atrtrainer yesterday because of the rough nature of the ground, said an R.N.Z.A.F. spokesman. The Airtrainer landed on a spit of land near the Rakaia rivermouth. Technicians will assess repairs to the aircraft after a court of inquiry has determined the cause of the forced landing. The court will be headed by Wing Commander C. W. Rudd, the officer commanding the operations wing at the Ohakea R-N.Z.A.F. base.
