Royal couple at end of visit
PA Auckland The Royal Dutch visitors are in Auckland today for the last full day of their New Zealand tour, after a weekend during which Princess Beatrix found herself “totally at home” and during which, in quite another way, Prince Claus really found the warmth of New Zealand.
Prince Claus burnt his I fingers when he bent down to test the temperature of hot: rock as the couple were; guided round the Whaka-i rewarewa thermal area, Roto-1 rua, on Saturday. Later the same day, Princess Beatrix, visibly moved, told guests at a civic reception in Hamilton about her “at home” feeling. Their visit that day to the Waikato orchard and dairy farm of Mr H. W. ten Hove had undoubtedly set the theme carried through to the luncheon by a welcoming Dutch folk group. Today, after flying by R.N.Z.A.F. Andover ' from Northland, where they will visit Waitangi, the Royal couple will visit the Ra Ora thoroughbred stud. They Will drive into Auckland for lunch at their hotel before Visiting the office of the Race! Relations Conciliator. A civic reception at the; Auckland Art Gallery and a: farewell dinner hosted by; the Prime Minister (Mr Mui-1 doon) will complete the day.
