■ The twenty-ninth national* lindoor bowls championships began at four Christchurch venues at the week-end with just on 4000 games in the section rounds of the* singles. The entry of 1995 was reduced to 687 qualifiers! . (three wins or better from* four games) and these will! resume play tomorrow after-1 noon to vie for a place in Wednesday night's final.
