Soldiers off to Fiji
I A contingent of South! ] Island Regular and Territorial! isoldiers has left to] stake part in a training exer]cise in Fiji. The exercise is organised! by the 2nd Battalion (Canter-] bury, Nelson, Marlborough,! and West Coast), Royai New] Zealand Infantry Regiment.! and is commanded by! Major E. M. McLennan, a! Territorial officer, of Christ-; church. A total of 112 soldiers, including 32 Territorials from the 4th Battalion (Otago andl ( Southland), Royal New Zea- ■ land Infantry Regiment, will! ■ spend 13 days in the Fijian bush, rehearsing jungle skills] i and techniques of survival.
