Canterbury scores well
Canterbury B and Nelson will meet in the final today of a mini hockey tournament in Nelson, Both finalists won their preliminary games yesterday. Canterbury B beat Marlborough 8-2 and Nelson beat Canterbury colts 4-0.
For Canterbury B goals were scored by Neil Coster (2), Bruce McLean (3), Neil Edmundson and Steve Ambler (2). B. Tapp and I. Hale scored for Marlborough. Nelson’s goals were scored by D. Guthard, T. Gribble (2) and A. Bradley. In second games played yesterday, Can. terbury B beat Canterbury colst 1-0, McLean scoring. Nelson beat Marlborough 4-0. D. Sharplin and Guthard each scored two goals. In Blenheim the Canterbury senior B team beat Marlborough senior B 3-1 yesterday, and the Canterbury primary schoolboys team beat Wellington 6-0 and Nelson 4-1. Other results were: Nelson 4, Marlborough 2; Marlborough 4, Wellington 3.
