Royal couple to visit Chch

Princess Beatrix and Prince Claus of the Netherlands will be in Christchurch on June 8 during the course of a State visit
to New Zealand. While in Christchurch they will visit Lincoln College, the Canterbury Museum, and meet members of the local Dutch community. In the evening they will be guests of honour at a civic dinner
in the Town Hall. They will arrive in Wellington on June 6 and, after an official welcome at Wellington Airport, will attend a Mayoral welcome ! at the Wellington Town [ Hall. The Royal couple , will stay at Government House where a reception I will be held in their I honour that evening. On June 7 they will [ have a full range of activI ities including a State
luncheon at Parliament, a visit to the Wellington Polytechnic, laying a wreath at the Nationa! War Memorial, and attending a reception pul on by the Netherlands Ambassador (Mr J. A. Kernkamp). In the evening they will dine at Vogel House as guests of the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon). On June 9, they will return to the North Island from Christchurch and will visit the Wairakei geothermal fields, Forest Product’s mill at Kinleith, have a meeting with community groups at Tokoroa, staying overnight at Rotorua where they will attend a buffet dinner with the Mayor of Rotorua. On June 10, the Royal couple will visit an orchard and farm at Matamata before attending a luncheon with the Mayor of Hamilton. They will then depart for the Bay of Islands, where their time will be free from official
engagements. On June 12 the Princess and her husband will fly to Auckland where they will visit the Ra Ora race horse stud, attend a civic reception in the afternoon and in the evening attend a farewell dinner with the Prime Minister. Princess Beatrix and Prince Claus will leave Auckland on June 13 after an official farewell ceremony at Auckland Airport.
