Volcano threatening
Heavy rain soaked the rumbling Mayon volcano in the Philippines, threatening to cascade hundreds of tons of lava and boulders on to evacuated villages on its slopes, the Volcanology Commission said. The Red ' Cross distributed more food, I clothing, and blankets to the [22 evacuation centres now I housing 25,000 refugees. [Four have died of illness [suffered before fleeing to the ■evacuation centres and 31 others have been sent to I hospitals, mainly with colds [and gastro-enteritis. — Manila.
