VIEWER’S VIEWS
“Royal Heritage”
Sir, — I was dismayed and disappointed at the end of last Sunday’s “Royal Heritage” to learn that it was apparently the final episode, and I know that thousands of New Zealand viewers will feel the same because it was to be a nine-part series. We have had only five. In the “Listener” for April 15 to 21 a double-page article about it described many Royal art collections and buildings which we have not yet seen. I hope we can look forward to the rest of the series in the near future. This is an outstanding and most beautiful documentary, well worth repeating, and I would like to think that this may be possible in a few months time. — F. ROWLEY. Mr John McDermott, acting editor of TVI, replies: :“Each of the programmes in I the ‘Royal Heritage’ series is i self-contained. It is a common practice to break up a series like this: TVI split ‘The Explorers’ series into two, for example. The remaining four episodes of ‘Royal Heritage’ will be shown later in the year, beginning again on TVI on July 23.”
