14 years jail for robbery

NZPA Melbourne A New Zealand man has been jailed for 14 years for 11 armed robberies, including two on massage parlours. He is Peter John Price, aged 34, a chef, of Pentridge Prison, who pleaded guilty to 11 counts of armed robbery in September and October last year. Mr Justice O’Shea said, in sentencing Price, that three charges related to the robbery of persons at a Williamstown house. Price had committed the robbery to correct a real or imagined grievance.

The victims were held at gun-point, tied up, and then Price had threatened to blow them up. Five other robberies were committed at two massage parlours, adjacent to each other, in Punt Road, Richmond.

Price had been tipped off that $2OOO was to be had but only got $2OO, his Honour said.
