Old people’s housing
A $200,000 housing complex for old people was opened at Sumner on Saturday by the Minister of Housing (Mr Holland). The complex, named Captain Thomas Courts, is a Christchurch City Council housing project. It contains 14 units and is at the corner of Wakefield Avenue and Truro Street.
The official opening party included the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr H. G.
Hay), and the chairman of the council’s housing committee (Mrs Mollie Clark).
