Smooth loving?
Extending the sealing of Godley Head Road was questioned last evening by several Christchurch City councillors. “It seems to me that we could be the only city in the country’ with a sealed lover’s lane within its boundary,” said Cr R. Lester. Cr D. C. Close questioned
spending about $7300 this year on the project, which would complete 1500 more metres and leave about 3000 m yet unsealed, when other street works had higher priority in the suburbs. But the project was approved because of a high National Roads Board subsidy for the work.
