Authority fined $400

PA Auckland The Auckland Regional Authority has been fined $4OO after being found guilty on two charges arising from the collapse of a trench at Pakuranga. The fine was imposed by Mr B. H. Blackwood, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland yesterdav.

In a prosecution brought by the Labour Department, the authority had pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to appoint a safety supervisor holding a certificate of competency, and failing to protect workmen in or about an excavation and make it safe.
