21,000 hrs by DC10

One of Air New Zealand’s DC 10 aircraft has now flown further than any other DCIO in the world. The aircraft was delivered in January 1973, and has now flown 21,328 hours.

The price for being the world DCIO “fleet leader,” will be special structural inspections at regular intervals. The results of these inspections, undertaken by Air New Zealand itself, will be made available by the manufacturer, McDonnellI Douglas, to all airlines using IDCIOs.
