Police head dies
PA Auckland Superintendent Clive McKenzie, who was responsible for one of New Zealand's busiest police stations, has died aged 51. Mr McKenzie, who controlled the Auckland police southern division, had been ill for some time. He was born in Gisborne, educated at Gis-
borne Boys’ High School and served in the Royal New Zealand Navy for six years during World War 11. He joined the police in 1954 and, after serving in Lyttelton, was posted to Gisborne from 1954 until 1959, when he was transferred to Wellington He later served in New Plymouth, Wanganui, Greymouth and Whangarei.
