Flounders sell flat out

An “overwhelming” rush on its Ellesmere flounder left the Selwyn Fish Supply sold out by late yesterday morning, according to its manager (Mr F. De Bont). The shop started selling flounders officially at six for $1 on Saturday, and the demand had been so good that yesterday it had sold 100 bags by 11 a.m., he said.

“Most other shops are selling flounders at about four or five for $l,” said Mr De Bont.

Although it was unable to replenish stocks yesterday, the shop will have flounders again today. Mr De Bont said that he hopes to be selling sea flounders as well later in the season.
