Ravensdown awaits response to offer
PA Dunedin! , Ravensdown Fertiliser (Company, Ltd. is adopting a ! wait-and-see policy on its take-over bid for Kemp-: thorne Prosser and Com-! pany, Ltd. The decision by l the K.P. board to reject the offer was not unexpected in the light of earlier events, said the chairman of! Ravensdown (Mr P. El-! worthy). Ravensdown has already indicated that the offer will be posted to K.P. share-! holders on April 26, or with-'
in three days of that date. Mr Elworthy was pleased with the outcome of the farmer delegation to a special meeting of K.P shareholders. Discussions between the farmer shareholders in K.P., and the board had “obviously taken place in a mood of goodwill.” he said. Ravensdown was still getting solid and continuing support from the farming community and there had already been an excellent response to the recently announced share issue prospectus, Mr Elworthy said.
