The committee, chaired by Mr J. G. Johnson, was set up by the Labour Government ’ Minister of Education (Mr .Amos) in 1975, “to identify the conditions under which healthy growth and development may be fostered in schools” and to recommend studies and activities that should constitute shcool programmes.
I The public has been I granted one year (until [ August, 1978) in which to : consider the report and comiment on it to the Minister. Three copies of the report [are available for borrowing [from the Canterbury Public [Library; one copy each from ithe main library and its New Brighton and Spreydon i branches.
