Kokako appeal
The sum of $l3O was collected in Christchurch on Wednesday evening towards the Save the Kokako Appeal. The appeal was launched nationally by the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society a month ago. Wednesday’s collection, at a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the society and interested persons, was the first contribution from the Christchurch area.
Money from the appeal will go towards engaging a research scientist on the society’s behalf to examine the kokako and its habitat.
