Flora d’Or. which started her career on a winning note at the. Cheviot meeting last: Saturday, completed the night’s main double when she won the .Nevele R. Stud Stakes. In doing so, Flora d’Or advanced sharply in favour for the New Zealand Oaks on Anzac Day. She took theh lead near the 1800 m and.ii although inclined to race ; greenly in the run home, she had too much pace for the : favourite. Eastwood Glen- * fern, and beat her bv more * than a length. ' i Eastwood Glenfern had to J work hard early after start- s ing from the 20m and took the lead at the 2000 m. She received a good run later and was not disgraced. Timely Proposal battled on for third, just ahead of Waimea which did particularly well after being in the open for much of the way. Young Doreen came on for fifth, ahead of Alena and Fleur.
