Man run over by tractor
An elderly man suffered severe chest injuries when he was run over by a tractor on his Yaldhurst farm yesterday morning. He is Colin Pavne, aged about 65. of Main West The accident occurred while Mr Payne was trying to start the tractor about 6.30 a.m. The machine was in gear, and one of the rear wheels passed over his chest, according to St John ambulancemen. Mr Payne was taken by St John Ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital, where he was admitted to the inHe was reported in a serious condition last evening.
