Kaleidoscope' with Blumsky
Two musical items will be introduced by John Blumsky on TV2’s “Kaleidoscope” tonight, and to be repeated on Sunday. The first item is from the series "Music for Guitar” and features John Williams and Paco Pena (who is visiting New Zealand). Pena is one of the great of flamenco and Spanish folk tunes. In the second half of the programme, Russell Kerr (who has just taken the position of artistic director with the Southern Ballet Company) discusses the problems involved in
moulding choreography to “fit” music that was not composed specifically for dance. To illustrate this point, “Due Concertante” is danc-
ed by the New York Ballet Company. To conclude the programme, John Blumsky presents the April Arts Round-up.
