BP looks for ideas on energy

An energy conservation award worth 850,000 has been set up by BP New Zealand, Ltd. The award will be made i in two successive years and' will provide $5OOO each year; and a suitably inscribed gold plaque for the award winner. A further $20,000 will go annually towards the develop-

ment, promotion or implementation of the energysaving proposal. .Any organisation or individual may apply for the award after April 1, and forms of application and detailed conditions may be obtained from the office of the New Zealand Energy Research Development Committee, at Auckland University.

The Minister of Energy Resources (Mr Gair) has agreed to act as chairman of a committee of trustees, I who would make decisions on the awards. With the managing director of BP New Zealand, Ltd (Mr J. C. Fair), he will consider suitable representatives from the Government and industry to act, as trustees.
