Call to tear down toilet
The toilets in North Hagley Park, near Victoria Lake, should be “tom down” and built elsewhere because of the number of assaults they seemed to attract, a Christchurch city councillor said.
“It is time we took the nettle by the hand firmly and got" rid of them,” Cr P. J. R, Skellerup told the parks and recreation committee. “They should be put in a place where they could be better patrolled. ’ A special report will be prepared on the feasibility of such a move.
