Applicants should be familiar with oil tilled, gas filled and solid types of cable jointing. The work in the main consists of jointing 33,000 volt 300 mm 3-core aluminium conductor C.S.A. oil filled cables. From time to time the applicant will be required to joint and/or repair other cables on the Board's system such as: 110.000 volt 3-core oil filled: 110,000 volt 3-core gas filled; 33.000 volt 3-core oil filled; 22,000 volt 3-core oil and gas filled; 33,000 and 22,000 volt solid types; and 33,000 and 11.000 volt submarine, types. A sound knowledge of oil filled cable jointing is required and applicants should be familiar with M.I.G. welding techniques as applied to aluminium conductors. The rate to commence is 335.4 cpn.
