I An eminent British monej tary economist, Professor i David Sheppard, has been | appointed to Victoria UniI versity of Wellington’s chair lof money and finance. i In 1958, Professor ShepI pard gained a bachelor of I arts degree with honours in I economics at Harvard Uni- | versity. Later he returned to ' Harvard to complete a masIter’s degree, before joining ! the economics department of the University of Birmingham in 1963 rising to senior lecturer. In 1969, he took up his present post as professor of economics at the University of the West Indies. Recently, Professor Sheppard has been a consultant to the E.E.C. Commission on monetary harmonisation, and an adviser to the Central Bank in Barbados. Later this year Allen and Unwin plans to release his i latest book, “Modern Money land Banking.” i Professor Sheppard is exI pected to arrive in Welling-, ‘ton at the end of this year. |
