PA Auckland Fox Belle, on breeding one of the most desirable broodmares, fetched $75,000 at Mr K. C. Burley’s Carlyle Stud dispersal sale t yesterday. The five-year-old mare . by Zamazaan from Belle Rosa , was bought by Wrightson Blood- - stock Ltd, which ran the auc- , tion, on behalf of a syndicate. 1 Seventy-three lots were sold I for an aggregate of $257,400. an • average of $3526. There was a ■ crowd of over 1000 and several > purchases were made by Aus- ’ tralians. ■ The 15-year-old Craft Queen ■ (Le Filou—Set Fain went for ' $ 10,000. the buyer Mr D. Dick of Manurewa. Miss M. C. Owen, of Taumarunui, paid as much for , Honey Carlyle, a 10-year-old by Better Honey. A filly by Zamazaan from Danish Lass attracted the highest price in the weanling section, going to Mr G. W. •de Gruehy, of Hastings, for $12,000. The Decies—Sweet Candy colt, which was not offered by the I stud was passed at $35.000.
