Boxers named
PA Wellington Two former national titleholders are among boxers fighting for places in the New Zealand Commonwealth Games team which will take part in trials at Lower Hutt on March 19. They are the Nelson tight heavy-weight. Dean Rackley, and the Wellington middle-weight, Royce Gray, who will join several current New Zealand champions competing in the 14 bouts at the trials. Afterwards a team of six will be named to meet an Australian team at Timaru on April 8 and then the national selectors will name boxing’s nominees for the Games. Bouts announced for the trials are:— Heavy-weight.—W. Byrne (Hutt Valley) v. G. Stankovich (Auckland). Light heavy-weight.—D. Rackley' (Nelson) v. F. Atioo (Auckland); J. Akufopo (Wellington) v. T. Liutene (Wellington). Middle-weight.—P. Rackley (Nelson) v. •W. Ratcliffe (Waikato); J. Seminate (Hutt Valley) v. R. Gray (Wellington). Light middle-weight.—R. Jackson (Hutt Valley) v. A. Stankovich (Auckland); K. Barry (Canterbury) v. F. Tafua (Auckland). Welter-weight.—D. Jackson (Hutt Valley) v. R. Leonard (Timaru). Light welter-weight.—P. Shaw (Waikato) v. F. Rayno (Auckland). Light-weight.—G. Scaife (Hutt Valley) v R. Mouatt (Central North Island); W. Isaacs (Wellington) v. J. Pauling (Wellington). Feather-weight.—P. Morgan (Canterbury) v. J. Smith (Wellington); R.
