Record to schoolboy
M. Blanch (Cashmere High School) was the only record-breaker on the first day' in the preliminaries of the Christchurch secondary schools’ athletics meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park yesterday. Competing in the junior boys’ grade, Blanch threw the discus 44.62 m, an improvement of about 3m on the old record.
