C.A.R.P. cites 80 food price rises
About 80 more grocery lines rose in price during 'February, according to the [Wellington branch of Camipaign Against Rising Prices. I This followed about 260 I grocery-line price rises in J January, said the secretary j of the branch (Mrs C. I Kelly). Among the larger price Jrises were a 22 per cent inIcrease on 150 ml bottles of Lea and Perrin Worcester sauce, a 42 per cent increase on all Diamond macaroni
products, a 14 per cent increase on 500 g cartons of Sanitarium honey, and 11 per cent increases on I.skg packets of Elfin flour and 60-watt electric-fight bulbs.
There had also been 10 per cent increases on 750 ml botties of Ribena, 750 ml bottles of DYC Malt vinegar, 255 g packets of plain Farex, packets of eight Trigon i roasting bags, and Croxley writing pads.7ool. Tins of Freshup Apple and Orange juice, 330 ml size, and 340 g tins of Hellaby’s corned beef had risen in price by 8 per cent, and 250 g packets of Chesdale cheese had increased by 7 per cent, Mrs Kelly said.
