Shipping News Lyttelton brigade adds to trophies
Lyttelton firemen continued their winning way at the biennial Canterbury-Westland brigade competitions at Greymouth during the week-end The four-man team, all watersiders, won two of the nine events and finished with the top aggregate score, and the championship trophy. The team was Messrs Tommy (Tucker) Smith (captain), Nev’ile Adams, John May, and Robert Norris. Thirty-seven volunteer brigade teams took part. Last year the Lyttelton team made ah almost clean sweep of 'the Canterbury competitions at Twizel, winning eight of the nine events. ARRIVALS ACT 7 (5.57 a.m.), 43,992, Wellington (A.C.T.).
