Greymouth bets record

Greymouth Reporter The Greymouth Trotting Club has become the first club on the West Coast to pass the S2M betting mark for a season. Monday night’s turnover of $377,616 lifted the club’s total this season to $2,193,534, almost $330,000 up on the turnover of last season, tvhen $1,860,396 was invested. For the first time, on-course betting passed the $500,000 mark, with Monday night’s on-course betting of $88,904 (up $16,381) taking the total for the five nights racing in the season to $533,264. This was an increase of $130,000 over the $401,839 invested last year. Off-course betting for the club for the season was $1,660,270, an increase of $201,713 for the five days, and a club record.
