To the Hunza country by jet an d mule
“Where exactly is the Hunza country and how does One get there?” a reader asked last week. The accompanying map pinpoints the area in question, which forms part of the Gilgit agency on the western frontiers of Kashmir. Hunza town is a group of small villages dominated on the south by Mount Rakaposhi (25,250 ft How to get there? Take a jet to Rawalpindi and then prepare for a long hard ride by mule. We are endeavouring to obtain more information from the Sydney office of Air-India, because we believe it might be possible to fly by light aircraft to Skardu.
