Television’s popular cops will return on TV2 tonight in a new series of “Starsky and Hutch.”
In “Fatal Charm,” Hutch (David Soul, wearing sun-glasses) finds himself with a new partner — at least for a while.
Starsky (Paul Michael) Glaser is away looking after his sick brother, so officer Linda Baylor (Roz Kelly) is assigned to work with Hutch.
Unfortunately, she is
too good looking for Hutch’s new rirl-friend. Diana Harmon (Karen Valentine) has her eyes on Hutch, and he does not mind a bit. But she is jealous almost to the point of insanity. Unaware of how explosive a person he Is dealing with, Hutch inadvertently aggravates the situation. Another series of “Please Sir” will begin on TV2 tonight. In the first episode, “Identitwit,” the newlyweds Bernard (John Aiderton) and Penny (Jill Kerman) are trying to cope with the problems of married life in a civilised manner. This is not easy when Mr Hedges is ac-. cusd of being a child molester after he tries to do a good turn by offering to take mlschevious Gerald
Davis (Kevdn Moody) to school. When the boy is reported missing later in the morning, Mrs Davis (Kate Williams, Joan in "Love Thy Neighbour”) calls the police, believing her little boy has been waylaid by a dirty old man. The Lawrence family will return in a new series of “Family,” also on South Pacific Television, tonight. This series opens with a two-part story, “Acts of Love,” in which Willie (Gary Frank) falls in love with Lizzie (Brooke Adams), a 20-year-old physics student he meets at the movies. Their relationship grows as they spend time firing rockets at the beach, working on car engines, and watching old reruns on television. But Lizzie is holding
something back; sometimes she won t even see Willie, and he cannot discover why.
Last year Gary Frank was awarded an Emmy Award for his role in this series, an award Kristy McNichol also won for her role as his sister. Buddy. Other members of the regular cast are Sada Thompson, as Kate, James Broderick, as Doug, and Meredith Baxter-Birney, as Nancy.
