Boys had big haul of toys
V Christchurch detectives recovered a big cache of stolen toys and other goods after they caught four young boys leaving the D.I.C. department store in Cashel Street yesterday. The stolen property was “mainly kid’s stuff—toys, and pencils, and that sort of thing,” a C. 1.8. spokesman said last evening. The value of the property was not known, but it was “prettv big,” he said. The police declined to say where the property was found, or how the boys bad got into the store. The D.I.C had . been broken into several times at recent week-ends, and possibly all the burglaries were committed by the same persons, the spokesman said. The boys were apprehended after the police received information from a member of the public. They will appear in the Children and Young Persons Court.
