Trusty true to form

BOB SCHUMACHER
The very capable chaser, Trusty Hobbs, prevailed in the open greyhound 540 m event at Queen Elizabeth II Park last evening. Trusty Hobbs, drawn in the outside box, had a dream run in a field that was reduced to five. Streaky Hobbs, a last-start winner, set the early pace, but Trusty Hobbs assumed control before the end of the back straight and it was only a matter of who would fill the minor placings.
The white and brjndle Old Hobbs dog won easily from Streakv Hobbs and Bright Pennant. Mystic Wave made ground for fourth, but all the honours were with the winner.
One of the more impressive runs of the evening was by Fashion Comet in the limit stakes
over 540 m. The fawn Planet dog returned a faster time than Trusty Hobbs and showed himself capable of competing against the best. The in-form Lobum Babe and Signor Caruso, filled the minor placings. Cheeky Kara, Charlie Hobbs, and Bushel Cain all had good runs. Results:— Perth Stakes, maiden, 350 m — Cheeky Kara (J. J. Walsh and W. J. Cairns; trainer: Walsh) 1, Phoenix Extract (M. G.
