At the final New Zealand practice yesterday morning, Hadlee had with hint a skateboard type crash helmet and elbow guards. He did not use them at the New Zealand net, but there is a prospect that he will protect himself during the test if the pitch and England's bowling argue that they are a necessary safeguard.
