Old wharf for demolition
The Lands and Survey De-i partment will demolish the! old wharf at Quail Island | today and tomorrow. The wharf had been: declared derelict before the I island became a recreational reserve in 1976, said a de ! partment spokesman yester- 1 day. It was dangerous, andi people had been warned by i public notices to stay clear.' The piles were to be blasted out. People are warned to avoid the wharf from 8 a.m. to 630 p.m. today and tomorrow. The wharf should
not be confused with the existing jetty which receives visitors to the island.
