Radio U, the University of Canterbury’s radio station, went on the air yesterday for the first time this year to broadcast enrolment messages and information about Christchurch for students new to the city. There are 20 people on the staff and the station will broadcast from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on 1230 kHz. The picture shows, in the foreground, Mr B. C. Officer, a station technician, and Mr G. D. Jones, an announcer.
