The Minister of Tourism (Mr Lapwood) with Mr William Anderson in a replica of the original Beech Hut at Quinton, on the Milford Track. Mr Anderson, aged 86, is still actively engaged on track making. He discovered the site of the first hut used by walkers at the turn of the century, and built the replica from rocks and logs obtained in the area. Mr Lapwood and members of his family accompanied a Milford Track party early this month.
