Study tour of N.Z.

Father Willie Pwaisiho, a Melanesian Anglican priest, is visiting Christchurch with his wife and family in the course of a New Zealand tour. He is shown holding his daughter, Barbara, aged 15 months. His wife, Kate, is holding Lorraine, aged two months. Father Willie came to Auckland last March, sponsored by the Anglican Mission Board, and has

been assistant curator at the Anglican Church at Mission Bay. “In return for what the New Zealand missionaries had done in Melanesia, we came to New Zealand to share in what the church is doing here,” Father Willie said. He came to New Zealand for two main reasons. First, to experience pastoral work and to study the European way of life and second as part of Partners in Mission, a

“sister-church” scheme, to exchange ideas and to help others by relating what he had seen in New Zealand. Father Willie is staying in Christchurch with Dr J. D. Thomson, of Sumner, who was a doctor in Melanesia for four years. Mrs S. Rynd, who works for the Board of Missions, in Wellington, is showing Father Willie round New Zealand. He will return to Melanesia in October.
