Do unto others...
PA Wellington The “Christian charity” of a coffee-shop manager resulted in a young thief escaping empty handed after snatching $l7O from the shop’s till on Tuesday. The youth walked into the La Vie Nouvelle Coffee House at 4.15 p.m. while the manager (Mr A. Francis) and staff were working in the kitchen. He took 8170 from the till
and walked out but was seen by a staff member and later found by Mr Francis sitting in a restaurant. With members of the public standing nearby, Mr Francis asked for the money back, and it was handed over. “There was no struggle and he seemed more frightened than anyone else,” said Mr Francis yesterday. “My letting him go I suppose you could call Christian charity.”
