Awards for music study
Three Canterbury music students have received a w a r d s from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London.
Mark Seeker, aged 22, and Judith Williams, aged 20, have each been awarded overseas scholarships for three years study at the Royal Academy of Music or the Royal College of Music, London. Mr Seeker hopes to transfer his study to the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.
David Butler, aged 20, has received the Irene Lassen Pianoforte Exhibition award. This is only the second time the award, a grant of $750 each year for two years, has been made. All three are students of music at the University of Canterbury,
