Hundreds of people watched some of the work of the Waipara Full Gospel Mission at the Leithfield Beach carnival yesterday. Attractions ranging from spinning, photography, birds and bees to bullet reloading and gun displays drew a large crowd. Many onlookers were curious, others merely interested in the arts and crafts of the much-publicised religious sect. Each stall was looked after by a sect member.

AU were eager to inform people about the various displays. The displays that attracted the most attention were the gun and military displays. Many were intrigued with the large variety of guns, medals and swords. The carnival was held in warm weather and attracted a large crowd. There were home-made side shows, a “Big Splash,” chocolate wheels and talent and baby contests.
